The hospital became operational on the 6th. day of November, 1981 after being commissioned by the then commissioner of health in Anambra State. The hospital initially started as a maternity but overtime transformed into a full-fledged hospital and was later elevated to a specialist hospital in 2014 under the administration of Rev. Fr. The current manager of the hospital is Rev. Fr. Innocent Affusim who assumed office on 22nd. October, 2022 and has continued to champion the non-stop innovations and development seen in the hospital today.
